The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) sit-at-home directive received full compliance across the Southeast and Southsouth region of the country SurgeZirc Nigeria has learned after speaking to some people present in the areas.

Most business places were closed and looked down totally as people hid to the sit-at-home order by the leader of IPOB Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who said the move was to protest “bad governance and economic annihilation”.

Mr. Kanu instructed people from the old Biafra land everywhere to boycott all activities organized to mark Independence Day celebrations in Nigeria.

Through an IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful, Mr. Kanu said, “The sit-at-home order issued by the global movement on 1st of October 2020 is totally successful in so many states and cities in Biafraland.” while adding that “all states in the Southeast and Southsouth within ‘Biafraland’, including Abia, Rivers, Ebonyi, Anambra, Imo, and Delta states, complied with the order.”

Mr. Powerful noted that compliance with “this order is to showcase our readiness for the speedy coming of Biafra freedom and independence. We thank our people in South Africa, USA, Canada, Britain, France, Japan, Germany, Indonesia, Australia and other countries of the world for their resoluteness declared to the world over that we are no longer interested in Nigeria. The whole world must understand that IPOB cannot go back to Nigeria.”

The success of the Nigerian Independent Day celebration boycott was further seen outside the shores of Nigeria precisely in South Africa where members of IPOB and Oduduwa demonstrated peacefully to show nonsupport for the country Nigeria, as seen in the video below.
