Armed Bandits stormed the area of Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State which resulted in the bandits killing at least three persons.
According to Katsina Post, two persons were also wounded including Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the local government area, Alhaji Lawal Dako.
Similarly, another 13 persons were kidnapped at Labi Village of Rafin Iwa Ward of the local government area. Killings and kidnapping for ransom have continued in Katsina despite security reinforcement in the state.
Katsina State, which borders the Niger Republic, has suffered a series of attacks from bandits and other terrorist groups operating in the area.
Two months ago there was a report of an attack on some foreign nationals working with ACTED, a French humanitarian organisation across the border where six French aid workers, a guide and driver were killed by a suspected terrorist group across the border in Niger.
Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred at about 11:00 am on Sunday, but locals in Katsina State say bandits or ISIS groups may be behind the attack.
