DSS Allegedly Recovers Arms And Ammunition From Sunday Igboho's Home

In the early hours of Thursday, Nigerian forces raided the home of Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho. The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Army.

The operatives broke into Igboho’s home in Ibadan’s Soka neighbourhood two days before the planned Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos.

Two of the agitator’s aides were killed, and twelve men and one woman were arrested.

In a statement issued Thursday night, DSS spokesman Peter Afunanya announced the discovery of several arms.

7 AK-47 assault rifles, 3 pump action guns, 30 AK-47 magazines, and 5,000 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition are among the weapons.

Other items include five cutlasses, one jack knife, one pen knife, two pistol holsters, one binocular, five cartridges, and three voodoo charm jackets/traditional body armour.

Igboho has fled, and the DSS has declared him wanted and advised him to report to the nearest security agency.

Afunanya continued, “Igboho may run as far as he can, he may hide as long as he wants, he might have attacked security operatives as his strength carried him. But this will be the end of his shenanigans.
