Former Senate President Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has praised Nigerian singer David Adeleke, also known as Davido, for donating N250 million he raised through social media donations to orphanages.
Davido on Saturday inaugurated a committee to disburse the N250 million he raised after soliciting funds on his birthday via his social media handle to which his friends, business associates and well-wishers impressively responded.
While congratulating the “Thirty Billion For My Account” crooner on his birthday, Bukola Saraki stated that he has been energetic and an achiever since childhood.
Taking to Twitter, the former lawmaker made the statements as follows:
“This past week on Instagram, we all watched @Davido ‘playfully’ raise N200 million from his friends, business associates, and other well-wishers — then donate N250 million to orphans across the country.
“Since he was a young boy, David has always had a persuasive charm, a great deal of talent and energy, and the ability to accomplish what others describe as “impossible” — through his sheer grit and hard work.
“As he celebrates his birthday today, I congratulate him for becoming a fine young man who continues to positively impact lives through his music and philanthropy. May Almighty God continues to reward your efforts,” Saraki shared.
