Buhari Reacts To The Death Of The Emir Of Lafiagi, A First-Class Monarch

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the death of Alhaji Sa’adu Kawu Haliru, the Emir of Lafiagi.

The 86-year-old First-class monarch died on Thursday, and Buhari expressed his condolences to the government and people of Kwara State in a condolence message signed by his spokesman, Garba Shehu.

The President also expressed sympathy to the Council of Traditional Rulers, who will miss the royal father’s wisdom and guidance.

He also expressed his condolences to the late monarch’s family members. Haliru was the Emir of Lafiagi for 46 years, and Buhari noted that during his reign, he initiated and sustained peaceful coexistence in the domain, particularly in accommodating other ethnic groups and nationalities.

According to the statement, Buhari believes the monarch’s legacy of hospitality, harmonious living, and encouraging civic responsibility should be carried on by those he left behind.

The President also prayed to the Almighty God to accept the departed soul and comfort his family who currently mourns his death.
