The immersive sim franchise System Shock from Nightdive Studios is being adapted into a live-action TV show. It will be available on the upcoming streaming service Binge, which is also developing a show based on Ubisoft’s Driver.
More information about the System Shock TV show will be released in the future. According to Binge, it will tell “a harrowing story of Citadel Station and its rogue AI that subjects the crew to unimaginable horror.”
The service, which is set to launch next year, has not announced a release date for the series.
In the meantime, Nightdive is hard at work on a System Shock remake. The game was supposed to be released this summer, but it has now been pushed back to the end of 2021.
System Shock joins a long list of upcoming shows and films based on video games. Twisted Metal, Firewatch, Disco Elysium, and a slew of Netflix projects, such as League of Legends’ Arcane, are among them. There are also rumours that Epic Games is working on a Fortnite film.
In other news, Sony is finally set to release the Uncharted film in February. Has anyone, uh, seen a trailer lying around somewhere?
